Main duties of the job
- To provide a high standard of cleaning within clinical and non-clinical areas reducing the risk of infections by following agreed work schedules, methods and procedures in accordance with the National Standards of Cleanliness.
- Operating cleaning equipment, machinery in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
- Disposal of waste in accordance with the Trust Waste Policy.
- Accurate completion of all required documentation to support specific service processes , eg Terminal cleans.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- To perform cleaning and other associated task in any ward, department, operating theatre, laboratory, corridor, catering area, office or residential accommodation as may be required and shall include all or any of the under mentioned tasks, which may include working as a team member
- To ensure the highest possible standard of cleanliness is achieved and complying with the National Standards of Cleanliness, and the local Infection Control Policy within given areas to minimise the risk of cross infection for staff, patients and members of the public within Trust premises
- Undertake deep clean/isolation cleans following national and local guidelines
Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

- Good communication skills, must be able to communicate with other members of Trust staff
- Good writing skills

- Previous use of cleaning machines and chemicals
KNOWLEDGE

- Literate – basic education

- Knowledge of COSHH
