This role will be a key player in driving Salisbury Foundation Trust and the Surgery division forward over the coming years.
You will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership and management of effective delivery of services within the clinical division of Surgery; compiling and developing business plans; meeting contracted activity within delegated budgets and achieving and maintaining agreed quality standards, risk management processes and Health and Safety requirements;
Work with the Chief Operating Officer to develop, direct and lead service improvement and performance strategies and policies to support the delivery of patient care within the Division; Provide operational management to the division with responsibility for the line management of all non-clinical employee within the Division, including the Service Managers and Heads f Department; Lead the Divisional leadership team in the delivery of emergency and elective activity across the divisional specialties.
Participate in the trusts on-call rota
Main duties of the job
The Divisional Director of Operations works as part of the leadership team with the Clinical Director and Divisional Head of Nursing. The Divisional Director of Operations will lead the Trust’s Operational Divisions within which patient care is delivered. Each Division comprises a number of specialist areas and/or departments which are responsible for providing a particular range of specialist patient services and procedures.

- Evidence of experience in developing and implementing service/business planning.

- Degree or equivalent management qualifications
- Specialist knowledge ad leadership experience over more than one discipline/ function acquired over significant period.
- Evidence of efficient and effective budget leadership and monitoring
- Ability to manage priorities in order to meet specific deadlines
- Effectively communicate with all employees and other key stakeholders
Desirable
- Senior management experience within an acute healthcare setting
- Masters within health care or related subject
