Job summary

Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust (MYTT) is embarking on a major digital transformation through the implementation of the award winning Nervecentre Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system. This transition from legacy systems to a modern, integrated EPR represents a significant step forward in supporting safe, efficient and high quality patient care across the Trust.

The Trust has a well established Digital Systems Team responsible for the management, maintenance, development and operational stability of its clinical digital systems. The Digital Systems Support Officer is a key member of this specialist team and will play an important role in supporting the transition to the new EPR, alongside the ongoing support and optimisation of existing clinical systems.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong interest in digital healthcare to gain hands on experience in clinical system support, system change, testing, training and continuous improvement, while being supported to develop technical and leadership skills. The role offers exposure to a wide range of clinical systems, close working relationships with clinicians and digital colleagues, and the chance to contribute directly to the Trusts wider Digital Strategy during a period of significant change and innovation.

Main duties of the job

  • Monitor and manage incoming requests from the Digital Service Desk, resolving or escalating issues in line with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Provide specialist support for a range of clinical digital systems, including SystmOne, Cancer Information Systems, Electronic Prescribing Systems, PAS
  • Assist with the configuration, maintenance and optimisation of clinical systems to ensure availability, performance and data integrity.
  • Deliver secondline support, investigating and resolving technical and application issues, liaising with other digital teams and thirdparty suppliers as required.
  • Support the assessment of user and training needs, contributing to the preparation and maintenance of highquality system documentation and guidance materials.
  • Assist the Digital Systems Manager with system upgrades, changes and implementations, including testing, release planning and rollout activities.
  • Participate in change management processes, including writing and executing test scripts and validating changes in test environments prior to live deployment.
  • Review system release notes and contribute to updates of standard operating procedures, business continuity plans and support processes.
  • Maintain a strong focus on information governance, confidentiality and data protection, ensuring compliance with Trust and national policies.
