Communications and engagement are critical to the organisation setting the tone at the top and this post-holder will play a key role in enabling those values to be communicated widely. The post-holder will be expected to deliver content and mechanisms for dialogue between staff across the organisation; influence behaviour change amongst staff and the public through communication; and to provide the public with clear information whether that is service change, a major incident or how to access services. The post holder will also be expected to create platforms and advise on digital content which recognises and celebrates staff and UHB achievements to the benefit of the local population and wider health service as a means of valuing staff, sharing good practice and building confidence in the UHB as a healthcare provider and employer of choice.
The ability to produce video content for social media channels is essential for this role.
Main duties of the job
- Plan digitally based communication activities that are responsive to internal staff and external customers, balancing the need for proactive service development and the reactive demand of operational responsibilities.
- Manage own video production workflow including allocation of tasks, setting targets and priorities to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of the video production work. This may need altering in response to an urgent request.
- Lead on video production activities including concept development, script writing, pre- production and post production.
- Influence and persuade committees and staff on appropriate digital communication approaches.
- Input digital elements to communication plans. Make recommendations and deliver digital communication solutions to social marketing, encouraging behavioural change that will have a positive effect on the lives of individuals and the health service.
- Provide professional communication advice on digital promotional materials and content.
- Monitor use of digital channels (owned sites) and trends/positioning and sentiment more widely and escalate issues of serious reputational threat suggest ideas of redress to senior colleagues.
- Undertake tasks including writing and editing digital content, taking basic photos, planning, shooting and editing basic videos, and basic graphic design for promotional materials.

- Strong communication skills – both written and oral – to communicate and engage positively with leading clinicians and professionals, wider staff, the public and other internal and external stakeholders. Ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely to a wide range of audience, tailored to their needs.
Experience

- Previous experience of working in a communications team. Evidence of providing communication services across digital channels with video creation across a range of channels.
Qualifications
Essential
- Educated to degree level in relevant field (communications, digital communications, or IT), or equivalent level of work experience including practical knowledge and experience of methods and approaches as they relate to digital communications and public relations.
Special Knowledge
Essential
- Digital video and audio editing software. Experience of clinical video production. Experienced in the use of Image manipulation software
