We are looking for a passionate, confident and motivated manager who can demonstrate an excellent understanding of operational management in Radiology.
As Deputy Radiology Manager, you will have a key leadership role and be responsible for the operational delivery of all core services.
You will form part of the Directorship Leadership Team, working in partnership with the Radiology Manager, Business and Performance Manager, Imaging Lead Nurse, Governance and Clinical Leads.
Main duties of the job
You will require proven skills in sustainable service delivery with the ability to lead, influence and build rapport and credibility with senior clinical and operational teams. As a senior leader you will need to be proficient in all elements of strategic planning to ensure operational and performance objectives are met and ensure a patient centred service.
Promotion of staff training and development will be essential to establish a stable and effective team that ensures job satisfaction, retention and creates a positive and attractive environment for future recruitment.

Experience
Essential
- Demonstrable evidence of management experience and responsibility in an Imaging Department..
- Writing business and strategic plans.
- Budget management
- Managing a department or a major section of a department including; HR, operational, finance, quality,
- Training of radiographic and support staff decision making and critical assessment of analytical processes and trouble shooting
- Evidenced experience of audit and quality assurance management
Desirable
- Appraisal and evaluation of equipment and materials used in imaging
Qualifications
Essential
- Diploma of the College of Radiographers or BSc in Radiography or equivalent Nursing or relevant Clinical qualification
- MSc in a relevant discipline or equivalent level training
- Evidence of formal NHS training commensurate with a senior NHS manager; for example interviewing, discipline management, financial management
- Evidence of substantial CPD in clinically related and relevant subjects
Knowledge and Training
Essential
- Scientific knowledge commensurate with managing an imaging department
- NHS HR, finance, corporate governance and purchasing systems.
- Legislation as applicable to an Imaging Department
- Health and Safety associated with an Imaging Department
Desirable
- NHS IT systems and their impact on clinical requirements.
