Practice Quality and Governance manager!
Exciting opportunity to join large, well established, training practice in Merthyr Tydfil.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of quality and governance frameworks across the practice.
- Monitor compliance with regulatory standards and legislation (e.g., CQC, GDPR, HSE, professional bodies).
- Conduct internal audits, risk assessments, and reviews to identify areas for improvement.
- Provide expert advice and training to staff on quality, safety, and governance matters.
- Manage incident reporting systems, complaints processes, and action plans.
- Produce clear and accurate reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.
- Foster a culture of openness, learning, and continuous improvement.
About us
We are one of the largest GP practices in Wales serving over 25,500 patients across three sites. We have a great team of 7 partners, 10 salaried GPs, 6 nurses, 4 HCAs and a clinical pharmacist. We have first contact physio every day.

Job responsibilities

- Working knowledge of EMIS clinical system
The candidate should be able to work independently using their own initiative, and yet also be part of the team. They should have excellent communication and leadership skills, and work with the practice manager and operations manager to strive for
excellence in healthcare provision. The candidate should have strategic vision to drive things forward and promote change where needed. They should have excellent IT and organisational skills and aim to deliver targets across clinical and administrative areas. It is important that the candidate is motivated, enthusiastic and able to performance reports, and compliance risk assessments in conjunction with health board and practice policy.
About You
- Proven experience in a similar quality/governance role, ideally within a professional or healthcare setting.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory and quality standards relevant to the practice area.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to interpret data and implement practical improvements.
- Relevant qualifications in quality management, compliance, risk, or a related field (e.g., ISO, CQC compliance, PRINCE2, Lean Six Sigma).
