Job overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic safeguarding professional to support the Head of Safeguarding, provide expert safeguarding advice, leadership and operational oversight for safeguarding and public protection across Powys Teaching Health Board.
Working closely with the Head of Safeguarding, you will ensure the Health Board meets its statutory safeguarding obligations in line with key legislation, including the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014, the Mental Capacity Act 2005, and the Violence Against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence (Wales) Act 2016.
Main duties of the job
Develop, implement and evaluate safeguarding strategies, policies and frameworks across the Health Board
Support the Head of Safeguarding to ensure alignment with Welsh Government priorities, legislation dn safeguarding procedures
Provide specialist expert advice to senior clinicians and managers on highly complex and sensitive safeguarding matters
Lead delegated safeguarding portfolios
Deputise for Head of Safeguarding
Promote a culture where safeguarding is embedded within quality, safety and governance frameworks
Work with the Head of Safeguarding to contribute to organisational responses to safeguarding developments
