UCLH Pharmacy is looking for an enthusiastic and well-motivated Pharmacy Technician to Support the dispensary Manager and Operations manager in the day to day running of the dispensary . The UCH Deputy Dispensary Manager manages the day-to-day organisation of the In-Patient dispensary supported by both technical and operational staff within the UCH Patient Services.

Responsibilities include staff management and deployment, training, stock control, reporting departmental Key Performance Indicators and developing and updating dispensary procedures in conjunction with the UCH Dispensary Manager and Patient Services Operations Manager.

Main duties of the job

To be a positive role model and provide a high-profile level of management and supervision whilst empowering others to deliver their objectives and goals  To develop, support and maintain a working environment which encourages teamwork, mutual support and excellence in service delivery and reduces risks to a minimum  To support Dispensary Manager in managing and leading the team of senior and junior technicians, pre-registration trainee pharmacy technicians, senior assistant technical officers, and assistant technical officers to provide an efficient, economic and timely dispensary service following locally and nationally agreed policies and procedures    To manage, support and direct the work of all staff during their allocated periods to cover work in the dispensary areas    To support Dispensary Manager in ensuring all relevant staff, as identified by the Pharmacy Patient Services Manager, receives individual performance reviews (appraisals) and to support identified objectives and training requirements    To monitor performance and undertake audits against local and national key performance indicators to ensure that service quality is constantly reviewed, and actions taken to achieve improvements.
