The remit of the GDS is to manage the arrangements which the NHS Board is required to make with dental practitioners for the provision of general dental services in accordance with The National Health Services (General Dental Services) (Scotland) Regulations 2010. NHS Lanarkshire is expanding its GDS team in light of the challenges facing General Dental Services across Scotland. Within the GDS team our Dental Practice Advisors will fulfil a governance and pastoral role to practitioners, offering support, guidance and advice on all primary care dental practice matters.
We now have an opportunity for one suitably experienced and qualified General Dental Practitioner to join our team working on a sessional basis for 8 hours per week for 12 Months The main focus of this role is to provide governance support to the primary care dental department. In addition, contribute to and promote the improvement in quality of care throughout general dental practice, to act in a supportive and advisory capacity (including clinical advice, audit and quality improvement) to practitioners, and to provide advice to South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnership, which hosts GDS on a pan-Lanarkshire basis on all matters relating to NHS General Dental.
