We are invested in you, helping you develop your skills to be the professional you want to be!The Special Care Dental Service provides preventive care and dental treatment to children and adults with additional needs who cannot receive care in a general dental setting. Ideally you will have experience of working with people with learning disabilities but don't worry if not, we will need you to be adaptable and compassionate to support our patients.We currently have a vacancy at our Special Care Dental Clinics located in the Southampton area and can offer an immediate start to join a team of likeminded dental professionals.At Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust we provide the best for our teams and patients with established surgeries and state of the art equipment and the use of theatre space in local hospitals. Main duties of the job
Working with adults and children with a physical, sensory, intellectual, mental, medical, social impairment or disability and those who require specialist occasional care due to medical, physical or behavioural difficulties.
It also includes care for children with extensive oral disease, those with developmental disorders of the teeth and mouth and children who are anxious or too young to accept routine dental treatment if required.
