Job summary
We are offering a fantastic opportunity for two Dentists to join a well-established and one of the largest Special Care Dental Services in Hampshire and the IOW. This opportunity is for a dynamic and enthusiastic NHS dentist who is looking to develop their skills and work within a team environment. The posts are 1 year Fixed Term to cover rotational gaps, one role is based in our East clinic for 5 days, one role based in our North area clinic in Andover for 3 days and 2 days at the Dental Academy in Portsmouth.
This is a service who has excellent feedback, within a very supportive environment and excellent facilities with a great opportunity to learn new skills.

Main duties of the job
You would be delivering routine and urgent dental care to patients, adults and children who are unable to access care in the General Dental Services due to their additional needs. These might include challenging medical conditions, physical disability, mental disability, learning difficulties, special dental conditions, social and behavioural limitations, domiciliary dental needs, anxiety management and bariatric care.

Experience
Essential
- Experience of organising and running clinics and supervising support staff.
- Evidence of commitment to continuous professional development and currency within GDC requirements.
Desirable
- Experience of dental software (R4 or similar)
- Experience in use of word processing, spreadsheet and database programmes
- Previous experience in Salaried Dental Services and NHS dentistry
Qualifications
Essential
- Current full Registration as Dental Surgeon with General Dental Council
- Foundation (Vocational) Training / equivalence and current Performers List number
- BDS (or equivalent)
Desirable
- Post-graduate qualifications relevant to Special Care Dentistry, significant progress on completion of Band A competencies
