Diagnostic Assessment and Access to Rehabilitation Treatments (DAART) is a care closer to home service that falls under Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust's Urgent and Emergency Care division.

DAART offers same day IV therapies, blood transfusion products, medical assessments and DVT intervention treatments.

Main duties of the job

  • To ensure that personal professional practice meets and exceeds the standards set for provision of patient care and contributes to overall excellence within the clinical area.
  • Regularly, to take charge of a clinical area, managing the nursing service, including the assessment of patient care needs, and the development, implementation and evaluation of patient care programmes.
  • The ability to rotate to additional DAART site i.e. Royal Shrewsbury.
  • To act as DAART co-ordinator in the absence of senior personnel.
  • To provide professional leadership and support to nursing colleagues.
  • To contribute to the effective use of resources and assist in the ordering of replacement stock.
  • To assist with supervising and assessing student nurses with their learning and experience in DAART.
  • To maintain effective communication with various disciplines, relatives, patients and outside agencies within the clinical environment.
  • Administering of IV therapies, carrying out observations, carrying out ECGs, cannulation and management and care of cannulas and CVADs and phlebotomy.

  • Clear documentational skills and IT skills
  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary/multi agency health/social care/ environment
  • Experience with Intravenous treatments, blood transfusion products and physical assessment

Knowledge and Skills

  • Able to assess, implement and evaluate programmes of care.
  • To deliver a high standard of care

Training and Qualifications

Essential

  • RGN
  • Evidenced recent study and personal development
  • RGN Up to date personal portfolio
  • Ability to demonstrate a level of English language and grammar commensurate with writing in service user case notes.
