The Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) are funded by NHS England with the aim of improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people with mild to moderate mental health difficulties in Cheshire Schools.

This role will involve remote / hybrid working, however, there will be a requirement to work from a CWP base on certain days and visit schools across the district.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking a compassionate Clinical Coordinator dedicated to improving the mental health of children and young people. The post‑holder will play a key role in Cheshire MHST, providing clinical leadership and coordinating service delivery alongside Clinical and Operational Leads. The successful candidate will have substantial experience working with children, young people, parents/carers and families, strong multi‑agency working skills, sound knowledge of relevant policy and legislation and excellent communication abilities. Core duties include: • Leading day‑to‑day clinical practice to ensure safe, effective, evidence‑based delivery • Overseeing clinical governance, including risk management, safeguarding, incidents and quality assurance • Supporting complex cases and risk escalations • Providing clinical, case management and reflective supervision to EMHPs, CWPs and trainees • Managing triage, allocation and caseload flow for timely interventions • Acting as the key clinical link for schools, 0–18 CYPMHS, safeguarding teams and local partners • Supporting schools with MHST pathways, referrals and intervention options and strengthening collaboration • Contributing to service improvement, audits and evaluation • Using data and feedback to improve access, outcomes and experience • Supporting innovation in digital delivery and screening

  • Providing specialist assessments, formulations and professional consultation to schools and agencies
