An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 6 a permanent position within the Critical Care Outreach Team on the Royal Derby Hospital (RDH) site.
We are seeking a clinically capable and enthusiastic nurse to complement our existing Critical Care Outreach. The team works closely with Critical Care, as well as other Medical and Nursing Teams across the organisation. We currently provide a 7 day and night service across the Royal Derby Hospital Site.
You will be part of a team which provides expert knowledge and clinical support to members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team.
You will advise on interventions for acutely ill patients and patients in acute pain, analysing clinical findings on a wide range of complex conditions.
Applicants must have the ability to work confidently and collaboratively across professional boundaries and be able to display excellent interpersonal, leadership and role modelling skills.
The applicant must have the ability to prioritise whilst under pressure and have good analytical and decision-making skills.
Main duties of the job
- You will have post registration experience in an acute care setting.
- You must have the ability to perform patient assessment, undertaking a formal qualification, if necessary, – highlighting areas of concern as appropriate and offer advice accordingly. You will also have an assertive, confident approach towards clinical problem solving.
- You will be able to demonstrate current acute clinical knowledge
- You will also hold mentorship qualification, ALS (or commitment to undertake) and have evidence of degree level study in a relevant subject area (or commitment to undertake.)
- You will be a versatile team member and have teaching/mentorship experience, as you will provide education and supervised practice of ward nursing staff on a range of assessment and interventions to promote competence.
- You will demonstrate a pro-active attitude to professional development and be willing to undertake professional competencies identified as standard for the critical care outreach service
- You will be flexible in your working hours; being able to work required shifts to meet the needs of the department. The service is 24/7 cover so you must able to work night shifts on a rotational basis
