The Corporate Governance Officer supports the Head of Corporate Governance and Corporate Governance Manager with corporate governance arrangements, to contribute to ensuring that the Health Board operates in accordance with statutory regulations and that there is appropriate stewardship and corporate governance of the business of the Health Board across the whole organisation.

Main duties of the job
- Act as secretariat for designated senior organisational committees, groups. The postholder will support the management of the Health Board’s formal decision and reporting processes ensuring the smooth running of all such meetings by bringing forward scheduled agenda items, compiling and agreeing the agenda with the Chair of the Committee/Group, attending such meetings (including some that may take place out of normal office hours) to produce prompt succinct formal minutes and summarising key decisions/actions for dissemination. Tact and diplomacy will be required in addressing the quality assurance of all documentation to the appropriate standard with senior BCU colleagues to ensure these uphold the organisation’s reputation and appropriate information governance standards, seeking support through senior CG managers, where appropriate, for complex/sensitive issues. The postholder will be responsible for the processes in operation to produce high quality multiple copies of agenda papers and the appropriate sharing of such papers either electronically or in hard copy format in a timely manner.

Experience
Essential
- Significant previous experience in administration and/or corporate governance within the NHS or other sector
- Experience of working with a Board, committees and associated policies and procedures
Desirable
- Previous experience working in a corporate administration role either in the NHS or in the public sector.
- Experience of project work
- Experience of using various database systems
Skills & Attributes

- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage competing demands on time, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confident communicator
- High level IT skills and experience in Microsoft office applications
- Well organised with the ability to quickly switch from one area of work to another.
- Ability to act with tact and diplomacy

- Welsh Language Skills are desirable levels 1 to 5 in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing in Welsh
