We are looking to appoint to whole time (10PA’s) Substantive Consultant Radiologist with an interest in Cardiac Imaging within the Medical Imaging and Medical Physics Directorate of the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, based at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital (RHH), Sheffield.

The successful candidate will join the existing collaborative team of cardiac imagers (Radiologists and Cardiologists from STH and the Yorkshire region) as part of the 57 NHS and 3 University radiologists within the Radiology Directorate.

The candidate is expected to have a major interest in Cardiac cross-sectional Imaging as well as an ability to provide support for the acute CT service for inpatient and Emergency Department patients, and general radiology activity across the Trust.

Any candidate who is unable for personal reasons to work full-time will be eligible to be considered for the post; if such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis with the Trust in consultation with consultant colleagues.

Main duties of the job

Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Consultant Cardiothoracic Radiologist to join the Department of Radiology. The successful candidate will contribute to a comprehensive cardiothoracic imaging service across the Trust, supporting one of the UK’s largest tertiary centres for respiratory medicine, thoracic surgery, cardiology and cardiac surgery. We are home to one of the largest Pulmonary Vascular Disease Units in the world, providing internationally recognized pulmonary hypertension service. Sheffield is recognised for cardiovascular imaging AI, with active programmes developing and translating AI into clinical practice.
