Applications are invited for a part-time (0.5 WTE, 5 PAs) Consultant in Paediatric Dermatology to join the highly specialised Dermatology Unit at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust.

The Dermatology service at GOSH is one of the largest and longest-established paediatric dermatology units in the UK, with an international reputation for excellence in clinical care, training, and research. The unit has been running for nearly 30 years and has trained numerous consultants who now practise both nationally and internationally.

This post offers the opportunity to work within a world-class multidisciplinary team managing a broad range of complex and rare paediatric skin conditions.

Key Responsibilities

Contribute to the consultant on-call rota and ambulatory/inpatient dermatology service

Participate in the ongoing development of this leading tertiary/quaternary referral service

Deliver highly specialised outpatient care, including:

Epidermolysis bullosa (EB) clinics

General paediatric dermatology clinics

Laser dermatology services (including a dedicated laser list)

The GOSH Dermatology Unit hosts the largest tertiary/quaternary referral service for complex laser treatments in the UK, alongside a busy and diverse inpatient and outpatient caseload.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide high-quality care in paediatric dermatology, particularly for patients with epidermolysis bullosa, epidermal differentiation disorders, and those undergoing laser treatments.
  • Contribute to the day-to-day running and management of the dermatology department.
  • Supervise junior doctors clinically.
  • Deliver high-quality teaching to both undergraduates and postgraduates.
  • Enhance the research profile of the department.
  • Contribute to effective clinical governance.
  • Demonstrate leadership and teamwork skills.
