You will join a collaborative and highly respected clinical team, with opportunities to influence practice, contribute to service improvement and help shape the future of anaesthetic care.
We welcome applications from clinicians who share our commitment to excellence, teamwork and continuous improvement
Main duties of the job
The successful candidates will deliver high-quality anaesthetic care across a range of general and specialist services at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals, supporting elective and emergency surgical activity.
Clinical duties will include main theatres, day surgery and specialist services, with opportunities to develop interests in thoracic, vascular and major general surgery, renal transplantation, complex airway management, interventional radiology and peri-operative medicine.
The posts are offered on a full-time 10 Programmed Activity (PA) contract, comprising:

The working pattern is predominantly Monday to Friday, with planned weekend activity (approximately one day in ten weeks) and participation in an agreed on-call rota. On-call duties will reflect service requirements and individual expertise across both hospital sites.
Successful candidates will also contribute to teaching, clinical governance, audit, research, quality improvement, service development and clinical leadership.
The Directorate actively supports professional development and the pursuit of individual clinical and academic interests.
A personalised job plan will be agreed within three months of appointment and reviewed annually. Flexible and less-than-full-time working arrangements may be considered, subject to service requirements.
