We are very pleased to offer the appointment of a Consultant Gastroenterologist at the Royal Free London Hospitals NHS Trust. The post is based at both Chase Farm Hospital and Barnet Hospital. This job offers an exciting opportunity for the successful applicant to join a committed team of consultants in this well- developed service. The appointed consultant is supported by 6 resident doctors: three Specialist Registrars, two IMT1/2 doctors, 1 FY1 doctor. The physicians have a close working relationship with the Radiology, Histopathology, Hepatology, Hepato-pancreaticobiliary, and Colorectal surgery. The appointee will join a multidisciplinary team to deliver Gastroenterology outpatient and endoscopy services at Chase Farm Hospital along with participating in the Gastroenterology on-call rota at Barnet Hospital, covering inpatient care and emergency endoscopy lists.
Main duties of the job
- An Exciting opportunity has arisen to join – and help develop – the Gastroenterology service at the Barnet Hospital. We are looking for an applicant who has experience in Gastroenterology and Endoscopy to support the provision and development of service across both hospital sites. The successful applicants will work within the multidisciplinary establishment with outpatient gastroenterology clinics and endoscopy lists at both the Barnet Hospital and Chase Farm Hospital. This post offers 10 PAs of combined direct clinical and supporting programmed activity. The successful applicants will form part of the out of hours GI bleeding service, contribute to the provision of an inpatient, outpatient GI service and Endoscopy sessions. The applicants will be encouraged to contribute to the audit, research as well as under- and post-graduate teaching within the department.

- JAG accreditation in gastroscopy and colonoscopy
- Experience in integrated care service development and delivery
- Training and education of undergraduate and postgraduate students
