An exciting opportunity has arisen for full-time Staff Nurses to join the NE District Nursing Service within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, one of the UK’s largest and most innovative healthcare organisations. This is a rewarding community-based role where you will deliver high-quality, person-centred nursing care across a diverse patient population. Working autonomously and as part of a skilled multidisciplinary team, you will support individuals to remain independent within their own homes. You will play a vital role in delivering responsive, compassionate care, including urgent and unscheduled interventions. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
Full Time, Permanent
Base Location: Bridgeton Health Centre
Shift Pattern: Flexible shifts across Monday to Sunday between 8 am and 8 pm, with participation in a weekend and public holiday rota
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, safe and effective nursing care to patients within the community caseload in partnership with patients, families and carers
- Undertake assessment, planning and implementation of evidence-based care programmes tailored to individual patient needs
- Provide skilled clinical interventions, including complex nursing procedures and management of long-term conditions
- Work autonomously while supporting the District Nurse and wider team to ensure continuity and quality of care delivery
- Respond effectively to both planned and unscheduled care needs, prioritising urgent patient requirements
- Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure compliance with professional standards, policies and guidelines
- Contribute to team development through mentoring, supervision and participation in audits, training and service improvement activities
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
- Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration (Part 1 or equivalent)
- Evidence of ongoing professional development and NMC revalidation
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with patients, carers and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to work independently, manage workload and make sound clinical decisions in a community setting
- Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving and teamwork abilities
- Competent IT skills, including use of digital systems for clinical documentation and communication
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the service area
