The Community Respiratory Service in conjunction with the Morecambe Bay Respiratory Network are looking to recruit to permanent a Community Respiratory Nurse (Band 6) post. The post will cover pulmonary rehabilitation assessments and classes, as well as provide Respiratory Specialist Nursing care in the home setting, for those with severe, chronic, respiratory disease.

This role offers you a permanent contract with our Trust (UHMBT) and the Community Respiratory Service.

As a Band 6 Respiratory Nurse, you will have previous experience working in respiratory (in General Practice, community services or hospital) and demonstrable post-graduate CPD relevant to the role.

Main duties of the job

To provide thorough holistic assessments, clinical examination and co-ordination and delivery of specialist clinical care interventions to patients, to support the management of respiratory symptoms and chronic respiratory disease.

To be actively involved in your own respiratory CPD, engage in role-specific training and competency frameworks, and support students, colleagues , patients and families to learn how to better managed chronic respiratory disease.

To work closely with the CRT/MBRN teams and wider MDT to improve the management and early diagnosis of respiratory disease across Morecambe Bay.

To work closely with the CRT/MBRN team members to measure, audit and evaluate the effectiveness and impact of the pulmonary rehabilitation and domiciliary nursing service, at the patient and service level, engaging in a cycle of continuous service improvement.

To work closely with system partners to embed the delivery of CORE+20 and local population health agendas into our Pulmonary Rehabilitation programme.
