Position:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit two motivated and compassionate Band 6 Charge Nurses to join the North Ayrshire Adult Community Primary Care Mental Health Team.

Hours:

36 hours per week.

These positions are on a permanent basis.

UK Driving Licence:

A UK driving licence is essential for this role.

What you will do:

The successful applicants will be highly motivated and committed to improving mental health outcomes within the community through the provision of assessment and evidence-based mental health interventions. Care is delivered within community clinical settings, working collaboratively with patients, carers, and multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure high-quality, person-centred care.

As the team provides a service across North Ayrshire and the Isle of Arran, there may be a requirement to undertake remote assessments and interventions.

The Primary Care Mental Health Team is based at Three Towns Resource Centre and provides a service Monday to Thursday, 9.00am to 5.00pm, and Friday, 9.00am to 3.30pm (excluding public holidays), for individuals aged 18–65 years who reside in North Ayrshire and Arran.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required for this post:

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain effective relationships with Primary Care services and partner agencies to support holistic assessment, care planning, and seamless patient journeys through the healthcare system.
• Support the ongoing development of the multidisciplinary Primary Care Mental Health Team, working collaboratively with the Team Leader and Senior Practitioners to promote integrated and effective working practices.
• Contribute to the development of effective working arrangements between community, inpatient, and specialist mental health services to support robust and coordinated care pathways.
• Provide clinical leadership within the Primary Care Mental Health Team, promoting a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Support the Team Leader, Service Manager, and Senior Manager in the continued development of integrated mental health services and seamless care pathways across adult services.
• Assume leadership and operational management responsibilities for junior staff, providing support, supervision, and guidance as required.
• Maintain mentorship/supervisory requirements relevant to your profession and actively contribute to the training, development, and education of colleagues and students across disciplines.

Essential criteria:

• RNMH qualification.
• Car Driving Licence

Desirable experience:

• In depth knowledge of common mental health problems and treatments/interventions
• Experience of working in a Community Mental Health Team

Applicants must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently and as a lone worker across various community settings, and a sound understanding of current mental health policies and legislation.
