We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Community Nursery Nurse in the Hertfordshire Family Centre Service based in the North Herts  team. Full and Part time hours considered.

Candidates MUST have a NVQ level 3 in Early years or Childcare or equivalent (BTEC, NNEB, CACHE Diploma)

This is an exciting time to be joining our team as we move forward with our integrated approach to delivering the Healthy Child Programme (HCP) to all our families.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will:

  • Will be part of a skill mixed team and as a Community Nursery Nurse you will work to deliver the universal and targeted Healthy Child and Public Health Nursing Programme  as part of the Hertfordshire Family Centre Service. Working across the 0-5 age, age 6 Special Education Needs and Disability (SEND) age range under the direction of the Public Health Nurse (PHN) to improve the Health and wellbeing of the local population.
  • Have a full valid driving licence and access to a car to use regularly for business purposes is essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010)

  • GSCE level qualifications or evidence of study to a similar level including English and Maths
  • NVQ level 3 in Early years or Childcare or equivalent (BTEC, NNEB, CACHE Diploma

Desirable

  • Additional training to foundation degree or BTEC diploma level or equivalent health experience with direct patient contact

Skills and abilities

  • Good interpersonal and communicational skills
  • Use of initiative to problem solve
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team including the wider multidisciplinary team

Experience and Knowledge

Essential

  • Experience working within a childcare setting
  • Experience of planning and delivering targeted activities.
  • Experience of working with diverse groups of people
  • Knowledge of Safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of the development of children & young people

Desirable

  • Health education/promotion experience
  • Experience of using SystmOne
