We are recruiting for a Community Fundraiser who shares vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

We are an ambitious hospitals’ charity that raises £1-2m a year for the four hospitals within the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust: Hertford County Hospital, Lister Hospital, New QEII Hospital and Mount Vernon Cancer Centre in Northwood.

Ideally you will have a background demonstrating proven success within fundraising, building relationships, volunteer management and events. You will be looking for between 30 – 37.5 hours a week, and have the ability to work flexibly including some evenings and weekends.

Main duties of the job

Meet or exceed a personal annual fundraising target (c. £200k) and to be a proactive and positive member of the wider team in order that the Charity reaches or exceeds its annual income target.

To support the Community Fundraising Manager in growing our donor led community fundraising income, with a focus on supporting individual and group third party fundraisers and events, building relationships and an income pipeline from grateful patients, NHS staff/volunteers, groups, schools/academic institutions and businesses.

To build and develop fundraising relationships in the community, representing the Hospitals Charity at networking events, public events and forums.

To support the Community Fundraising Manager to deliver an annual community fundraiser and volunteer recruitment plan. To help recruit and work effectively with office based and community volunteers.

To provide excellent stewardship to in memory fundraisers and support in growing the amount of funeral collections tribute pages set up for the charity.

To promote challenge events and effectively recruit and steward participants to maximise fundraising.
