Job overview

Are you a passionate Children's Nurse looking to make a real difference to children and families in their own communities?

We are looking for a compassionate, motivated Registered Children's Nurse to join our Children's Community Nursing Team, supporting children and young people with a wide range of health needs, helping them receive high-quality care closer to home and reduce hospital admissions and attendances.

Working across the London Boroughs of Kensington and Chelsea, Hammersmith and Fulham, and Westminster, you will provide clinical care, education and support to children, young people and their families, and play an important role in supporting student nurses and contributing to a positive learning environment.

Our multidisciplinary team works closely with colleagues across primary care, acute hospitals, social care and education to deliver coordinated, child-centred care for children and young people aged 0–18 years.

We offer a supportive environment with excellent learning and development opportunities, a comprehensive education programme, and regular clinical and safeguarding supervision.

As an added bonus, you will also rotate into our Special School Nursing Team when required, gaining valuable experience with children with complex health needs within an education setting — a great way to broaden your clinical skillset.

We welcome applications from nurses enthusiastic about providing great care, working collaboratively, and practising autonomously.

Main duties of the job

As a Children's Community Nurse, you will be part of a dedicated team delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to children and young people in a variety of community settings, including their homes, schools and nurseries.

Working alongside the Children's Community Team Leads and wider multidisciplinary partners, you will:

  • Deliver safe, effective and child-centred nursing care to children and young people with a range of health needs.
  • Support children, young people, families and carers to develop confidence in managing health conditions and treatment plans.
  • Contribute to reducing hospital admissions by providing care closer to home wherever appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with health, social care and education professionals to ensure coordinated care and positive outcomes.
  • Provide teaching, training and support to families, carers and education staff where required.
  • Support the learning and development of student nurses and other colleagues.
  • Maintain high standards of clinical practice, safeguarding and professional accountability.

This role offers the opportunity to build strong relationships with children and families, develop specialist community nursing skills, and make a meaningful impact on the lives of local children and young people every day.
