Job overview

The post holder will work as a key member of the communications team delivering an effective communications service for EPUT with a focus on supporting The Nova, Electronic Patient Record programme.

Main duties of the job

Develop relationships with colleagues across the Programme team to create a programme of internal and external communications to support the effective delivery of the programme.

Develop, implement and evaluate a range of communications tactics, including campaigns, stakeholder communications, consultations and events as required. This includes managing budgets and schedules, as well as managing external contractors and suppliers as required.

Commission, write and edit complex internal and external communications materials including reports, articles, media releases, statements and information products.

Create written and visual content, bulletins, newsletters and other communications products for electronic and print distribution. Organise distribution as required using a range of tools, platforms and channels.

Develop, review and evaluate communications channels and activities to ensure effectiveness and continuous improvement.

Provide reactive media management, using expertise to manage reputational risk. Respond to media enquiries, brief journalists; manage events, press conferences, photo calls and visits as needed.

Develop and maintain knowledge of communication systems and platforms as needed.

Work with colleagues across the programme to provide relevant communications support to deliver programme objectives.

Receive and respond to queries from Trust colleagues and members of the public, providing excellent customer service.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post holder will be required to develop successful working relationships at all levels of the organisation, particularly with programme colleagues, key external contacts such as other members of relevant networks, regulatory organisations and journalists.

The post-holder will be required to negotiate and advise in situations of confrontation and high emotions whilst retaining a calm, credible and professional demeanour.

The post holder will be required to convey sensitive and complex information relating to all areas of the organisation’s operations and strategy.
