Job summary

An exciting development opportunity is offered with this 12-month secondment to role of Commissioning Manager at Royal Papworth NHSFT, a tertiary specialist hospital based on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.

We are seeking a dynamic individual with experience in income, commissioning and NHS contracts to fulfil the role which is responsible for leadership of the Private Patients finance team and related Trust wide projects including income lead for provider-to-provider agreements, in addition to supporting and deputising for the Head of Commissioning and Income.

Main duties of the job

The role is responsible for supporting the negotiation and day to day management of the Trust's NHS contracts and leading the pricing, contract and payment negotiations for private insurers, which together make up the Trust's annual clinical income. Clinical income forms a key part of the Trust's annual planning process, and this role will be responsible for supporting the analysis of the Trust-wide overall income position, identifying, understanding and monitoring risks and opportunities.

The role will require a good understanding of the potential financial implications of strategic and operational changes in the health and social care landscape, including a robust understanding of national frameworks.

The role leads the performance of the private patient income team, this will involve providing support and guidance, ensuring that outputs are in accordance with agreed standards, ensuring excellence is recognised.

The role will work closely with and provide stewardship to a variety of stakeholders both internal (clinical and non-clinical) and external to the organisation across all levels of seniority. The candidate will have excellent communication skills, verbal and written to enable delivery of appropriate and effective information.
