Job summary

We are recruiting a Clinical Team Co-ordinator for School Nursing within the 0-19 Service which is based in Newport on the Isle of Wight. The role will provide line management of School Nurses and skill-mix staff and the postholder will support the Clinical and Operational Lead to drive forward the high quality delivery of the Healthy Child Programme across the 0-19 services and work in partnership with our partners in primary care, early years, education and local authority, plus voluntary sectors. The post holder will be accountable to the Clinical and Operational Lead, ensuring staff are supported to deliver the Health Child Programme efficiently and effectively. The post holder will work as part of the leadership team to provide continual assurance that services provided are in line with changing national and local best practice requirements.

You will be a qualified Specialist Community Public Health Nurse SCPHN, (School Nurse) and possess excellent communication skills with a proven track record in effective and safe service delivery, whilst ensuring that competing demands are met and successful delivery of objectives within business plans. You are expected to work as part of the leadership team, representing the 0-19 service locally and ensuring that partnership working is effective.

Main duties of the job

  • To work as part of a team of Clinical Team Co-ordinators, leading the School Nursing on the Isle of Wight
  • To support the management and development of the School Nursing Service
  • Management functions to include team support, supervision and performance management and appraisals.
  • To ensure that the Public Health agenda remains at the centre of the School Nursing service.
  • To support service delivery, achieving key performance indicators and assurance of clinical governance within the service
  • To take an active role in ensuring adherence to the safeguarding agenda
  • To maintain a small caseload and assist with clinical work as required.
  • To support the development partnership working with other agencies.
