The post is central to the delivery of research in the Trust, and to support local services to deliver research projects which are included on the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) portfolio. You will be responsible for the recruitment and follow up of service users to research studies. The role will involve undertaking study related procedures as appropriate and the assessment, planning and on-going care of research participants throughout the duration of the study.
Main duties of the job
The post of Research Nurse is based at Euston House, Telford, and involves travelling and working across the geographical area of Shropshire, Telford and The Wrekin, and potentially beyond.

- First level nursing degree/qualification with current NMC registration.
- Appropriate years' experience as a registered nurse.
- Strong organisational skills and work on own initiative.
- Able to line manage, train, and develop staff.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively to a wide multidisciplinary team and patients.
- Ability to work independently and be an excellent team player.
- Ability to work flexible hours & travel across geographical sites as required to meet service needs.
- Adaptability to ensure achievement of objectives within constantly changing environments.
- Clinical skills: venepuncture, specimen collection, clinical observations, and assessments.

- Registered Nurse or Health Care Professional educated to degree level with post registration experience.
