Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Research Nurse to join our Renal Research Team. We are looking for a registered nurse with previous NHS experience who is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to research that improves outcomes for people living with kidney disease.

As a Clinical Research Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of commercial and non-commercial research studies. Working closely with Principal Investigators, research colleagues, the multidisciplinary team, and external partners, you will support the coordination and delivery of clinical research while ensuring participants receive safe, compassionate, and patient-centred care throughout their research journey.

The role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong organisational abilities, and the confidence to work autonomously while managing competing priorities. You will be responsible for recruiting and consenting participants, providing education and support, coordinating study visits, performing research-related clinical procedures, administering investigational medicinal products where appropriate, collecting and processing biological samples, and ensuring accurate and timely data collection.

Main duties of the job

  • Delivering clinical research studies in accordance with study protocols, regulatory requirements, and Good Clinical Practice standards.
  • Identifying, screening, recruiting, and supporting research participants.
  • Obtaining informed consent and ensuring participants are fully informed throughout their involvement in research.
  • Performing study-related clinical assessments and procedures.
  • Administering investigational medicinal products and monitoring participant safety where required.
  • Collecting, documenting, and maintaining accurate research data and study records.
  • Collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders to facilitate study delivery.
  • Promoting research awareness and supporting the integration of research into clinical practice.
