We have a vacancy for a Clinical Receptionist & Booking Clerk in Jasmine Centre (Breast Department) at DRI. The post can either be 33 hours per week or a job share could be considered depending on applicants. Therefore, if you are only interested in working 16 hours per week, please still apply as we will consider options after interview.
Cover will be required at BDGH for annual leave/sickness. The hours will be agreed after interview but would be Monday - Friday if one post. You may be asked to work other days due to sickness or annual leave.
Main duties of the job
Provide administrative/reception service support to facilitate the patient pathway
Work flexibly across services to provide a booking service, process clinic changes, call centre cover, processing of referrals and undertaking a range of general admin tasks
Build and maintain close working relationships across the clinical administrative teams, using Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) to ensure functions of the role are carried out correctly and within given timescales.
Ensure accurate data recording using SystmOne and E-referral and other systems; and via the use of Patient Tracking Lists (PTLs) book outpatient/inpatient events in accordance with clinical instruction and national/local waiting time target dates.

Knowledge & Experience
Essential
- Previous experience working in a clinical / administrative role
- Demonstrable working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Word
- Commitment to acquire & apply knowledge of RTT National and local waiting times rules
Desirable
- Previous hospital or NHS experience working in a clerical/administrative role
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of Trust Policies, including Patient Access Policy
- Knowledge and understanding of RTT National and local waiting time rules
Qualifications & Training
Essential
- Minimum of 3 GCSEs including English and Maths at Grade C or equivalent qualification
Desirable
- ECDL or equivalent qualification
