Older People’s Community Mental Health Team – West FifeFife Psychology Service is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Clinical Psychologist to join our Older People’s Psychology Team. We welcome applications from both experienced and newly qualified psychologists. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a well-established, supportive team delivering high-quality psychological care to improve the mental health and wellbeing of older adults.The post is based within an Older People’s Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) serving West Fife. You will work collaboratively with colleagues from nursing, occupational therapy, and psychiatry, providing psychological care to older people presenting with a wide range of complex psychological, emotional, and behavioural difficulties. Psychology is a well-integrated and highly valued part of the multidisciplinary team, and the role includes a strong emphasis on consultation, supervision, and collaborative working.The post is primarily outpatient-based, with opportunities to contribute to inpatient work as required. Clinical work is based across Lynebank and Queen Magaret Hospitals, Dunfermline. The role is supported by a senior psychologist who also works within the CMHT, ensuring access to regular supervision and professional support.You will join the wider Older People’s Psychology Team, comprising eight clinical psychologists working across Fife. The older people’s team provides input to three CMHTs, as well as care homes, the Fife stroke service, early onset dementia service, and community frailty service.As part of the wider Fife Psychology Service, you will be connected to a large and dynamic service of over 200 staff spanning the full range of clinical specialties. There are excellent opportunities for continuing professional development (CPD), cross-specialty working, and involvement in research, training, and service development. Specialist supervision groups are available across a range of therapeutic approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, EMDR, and Compassion Focused Therapy.Fife Psychology Service maintains strong links with the Universities of Edinburgh, Stirling, Dundee, and St Andrews, contributing to doctoral and MSc training programmes. Research and innovation are actively supported.Fife is well connected to Edinburgh, Stirling, Perth, and Dundee, and many staff choose to live in surrounding areas while benefiting from Fife’s reputation as a supportive place to work.
