A rare and very exciting opportunity to join our Surgical Centre Gillingham, (formally known as the Will Adams hospital) in the role of Clinical Governance Manager and Infection Prevention and Control Lead.

You will be expected to work closely with the Hospital Manager, Head of Nursing and Senior Management team as well as Departmental Leads to embed and manage a quality governance, assurance and regulatory programme.

Main duties of the job

As our Clinical Governance Manager and IPC Lead, you will:

  • Lead and promote the patient safety agenda, ensuring effective implementation of the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework, safety alerts, best practice guidance, and lessons learned from incidents
  • Oversee patient feedback processes, including complaints management, and drive continuous service improvement
  • Coordinate clinical and centre-wide audits, ensuring compliance with NICE guidance, regulatory requirements, and clinical best practice
  • Support teams in incident reporting, risk management, clinical effectiveness, KPI performance, and governance compliance
  • leading preparations for CQC inspections and other regulatory assessments
  • Provide expert leadership and advice on all aspects of Infection Prevention and Control (IPC)
  • Chair governance meetings and produce regular clinical governance reports and updates
  • Develop, review, and implement policies, procedures, and service improvements in collaboration with professional networks and stakeholders
  • Lead medical device compliance activities, ensuring equipment safety standards and regulatory requirements are met
  • Monitor training compliance and support the review and implementation of clinical and operational policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures
  • Work closely with the Head of Nursing to deliver training initiatives, support staff development, and maintain high standards of care, safety, and governance

About us

To be considered for this role you will need to be a qualified Health Care professional with relevant current professional registration (e.g., NMC, HCPC GMC, ACP), as well as:

  • 5+ years relevant experience in hospital-based functions
  • Demonstrable experience within clinical Governance
  • At least 2 years working in a management/ senior role
  • Experience/ Qualification within Infection Prevention and Control (Desirable, but not essential, but willing to undertake)
