An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust as a Clinical Administration Services Manager, playing a key leadership role in our newly established Clinical Administration Service.
This is more than a traditional administration management role. We are transforming how clinical administration is delivered across the Trust, creating a professional, resilient and future-ready service that supports high-quality patient pathways, operational performance and patient experience.
Reporting to the Head of Patient Services, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across designated services, developing high-performing teams and working collaboratively with clinical, operational and corporate colleagues.
You will play a central role in shaping the service, leading through change, strengthening leadership capability, developing our workforce and embedding a culture of continuous improvement. Using data and insight, you will drive performance and identify opportunities to improve quality, consistency and efficiency.
You will also help prepare Clinical Administration Services for the Trust’s digital transformation and electronic patient record (eCare) implementation.
We are looking for an ambitious, compassionate and inspiring leader with significant management experience who can build strong relationships, develop people and translate strategic ambitions into effective operational delivery.
Main duties of the job
As Clinical Administration Services Manager, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for our Reception and Ward Administration teams, ensuring high-quality, efficient and resilient support to patient pathways.
You will provide visible and compassionate leadership to approximately 155 WTE across Cornwall, developing high-performing teams and ensuring effective workforce deployment, service resilience and operational performance.
Working closely with clinical, operational and corporate colleagues, you will ensure services support safe and effective patient pathways and contribute to key access, quality and performance standards. You will use workforce, performance and financial data to identify challenges, drive improvement and provide assurance.
You will lead service transformation and workforce development, improving consistency, productivity and ways of working, while supporting the implementation of digital solutions including eCare.
You will manage delegated budgets, maintain effective governance and risk arrangements, and build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.
