Job overview

Are you an organised and proactive administrator looking to make a real difference in patient care? The Trauma & Orthopaedics department is excited to offer a fantastic opportunity to join our team as a  Clinic Coordinator.

This is a pivotal role at the heart of our service, where you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day coordination of elective clinics. You’ll ensure clinic templates are accurate, appointments are effectively managed, and patients receive a smooth and efficient experience from start to finish.

Working closely with our consultant team, medical secretaries, patient access team, and directly with patients, you’ll play a key role in keeping our service running seamlessly.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will deliver wide-ranging support to the management to ensure the effective running of clinics and appropriate set up of clinic templates. The post holder will need to ensure services are suitably staffed and supported across all areas such as reception, medical staffing and clinic utilisation. This role will also include liaising with a variety of staff across the Trust to ensure the smooth running of the clinics for the patients, clinicians and related support departments.

Ensure clinic templates align with staffing and identify anomalies or issues to escalate to management. Co-Ordinate outpatient clinics with Management support to ensure efficient clinical cover and running of clinics. Be responsible for all administrative tasks involved in the management of clinics within the department. Be responsible for day to day management, organisation and delegation of relevant tasks and roles to others as required. Deputise for the Assistant Specialty Manager where necessary and appropriate.
