We are seeking to recruit a motivated Clerical Officer to join our friendly, supportive and hardworking team in the Breast Unit, at Eden Breast Screening Unit, Cumberland Infirmary Carlisle.
The successful candidate will be required to provide administrative support within the Breast Screening Admin Office, which includes reception duties, managing patient appointments, answering patient enquiries, image and medical records handling, use of computers and data input. The post involves liaising with many NHS professionals, support staff and the general public to ensure an efficient and effective service. You will be a cheerful, versatile and helpful team-worker, literate and methodical, with excellent communication skills, able to relate well to people and put them at ease.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive administrative support within the Breast Screening Administration Office. Duties will include reception responsibilities, booking and managing patient appointments, responding to patient enquiries, handling medical records and imaging information, and accurate data entry using computer systems.
The role requires regular liaison with a wide range of NHS professionals, support staff, and members of the public to help ensure the service runs efficiently and effectively. The successful candidate will be a positive, adaptable and supportive team member who is organised, methodical and able to communicate clearly. They will be confident interacting with people, helping to create a welcoming environment and putting patients at ease.
A proven ability to work with a diverse range of staff at all levels, alongside experience using Information Management and Technology systems, is essential. Candidates must be highly organised, demonstrate excellent attention to detail, and possess strong communication skills.
