An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly and dynamic Administration and Reception team at the Head & Neck department at York Teaching Hospital.

In this role you will be the first point of contact for our service users and the successful applicant should be able to demonstrate effective communication skills and empathy. Experience of working in a healthcare setting and some reception knowledge would be desirable. Previous experience in an Outpatients setting would also be advantageous.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will provide a range of basic Clerical support, including:

  • Meeting with patients on reception, and helping with appointments and queries
  • Use the e-referral software to process new patient referrals in the required time frame
  • Monitor all the departmental email inboxes.
  • Receive general enquiries, which could be as the first point of contact including, patients, visitors, staff and others.
