We are recruiting Cleaning & Catering Assistants to support services across our hospitals. As a key member of the team, you will help maintain high standards of cleanliness and support patient meal services, contributing directly to patient experience, comfort and safety.

Competitive pay rates include:

  • £12.92 per hour for weekday shifts
  • £18.22 per hour for weekday nights (after 8pm) and Saturdays
  • £23.64 per hour for Sundays and Bank Holiday

Main duties of the job

What you'll be doing:

  • Cleaning clinical and non-clinical areas in line with NHS standards and infection prevention procedures.
  • Maintaining wards, patient areas, bathrooms and communal spaces to a high standard.
  • Preparing and serving food and beverages to patients.
  • Cleaning kitchen and food service areas.
  • Safely handling waste, linen and cleaning equipment.
  • Working as part of a friendly team to deliver excellent support services

The shifts we have available are:

  • Monday to Friday 07:10-13:30 - 30 hours a week
  • Monday to Friday 16:30-19:30 - 15 hours a week
  • Two week rolling rota - 30 hours a week
  • Two week rolling rota - 21 hours a week

The postholder will have regular contact with vulnerable people and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
