You will provide leadership to the Band 4/3 administration team and take ownership of administrative systems and processes that directly support children’s therapy pathways.

The role offers variety, responsibility and the opportunity to make a real impact by shaping administrative processes that support timely, well‑coordinated care in a supportive NHS environment.

Main duties of the job

The post‑holder leads the day‑to‑day delivery of administrative support within the Children’s Integrated Therapy Service, providing line management and supervision to one Band 4 administrator and a number of Band 3 administrative staff. Working closely with operational and clinical managers, the role focuses on coordinating workload, supporting staff development and ensuring administrative activity is well organised, responsive and aligned to service priorities.

The CIT Administration Lead acts as the central point of contact for administrative matters within the service, contributing to process improvement, service coordination and the smooth running of children’s therapy pathways that directly impact patient experience.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The CIT Administration Lead oversees administrative systems that support children’s therapy pathways from referral through to discharge, ensuring tasks are coordinated effectively and information is accurate and timely. The role supports managers through meeting coordination and contributes to operational areas such as financial administration, procurement, health and safety and liaison with estates and corporate services. The post‑holder plays a key role in maintaining high‑quality administrative support that directly impacts patient experience and service efficiency.

The post‑holder will bring strong administrative experience within a healthcare environment, supported by advanced IT skills and confidence using electronic patient record systems and Microsoft Office applications. They will be highly organised, able to manage competing priorities and communicate effectively with a wide range of staff. The role requires strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with experience supervising staff and contributing to positive team working. The ideal candidate will demonstrate good numerical and analytical ability, a solution‑focused approach to problem‑solving, and an understanding of how effective systems and processes support service delivery.  Knowledge of SEND services and the Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment process would be an advantage.
