Perioperative nursing within NHS Golden Jubilee is proud to acknowledge the strong person centred reputation that it has established, we are central to and a major part of all that is delivered by the teams here.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced theatre practitioner to join the General/Thoracic/Endoscopy scrub team within the Golden Jubilee University National Hospital.
This is an exciting time for both the Colorectal and Thoracic services as we develop our new Robotic programmes. We currently have one theatre dedicated to Robotic Thoracic Surgery, including lung resections for various thoracic conditions. We also have commenced our new Colorectal Robotic Surgery programme, providing a variety of treatments for patients suffering malignant and debilitating bowel conditions. Both robotic programmes, along with our Enhanced Recovery, ensure patients receive pioneering surgery whilst maintaining the high standard of care delivered at NHS Golden Jubilee.
Our focus on education is key to support this programme and you will play a key role in this development. We have a team of Clinical Educators based within the theatre dept. who support the induction of new staff and facilitate a monthly training day.
You will also be assigned a preceptor, guiding you through your competencies as you embark your theatre career at the Golden Jubilee University National Hospital.
The Phase 2 hospital expansion programme will deliver a purpose built endoscopy centre which will increase our endoscopy capacity from two to five rooms within a five-year period. We will also see our theatres increase from 15 to 20, increasing our Orthopaedic activity.
This is an excellent opportunity for learning new skills and for personal development and learning.
