This is a part time position; Monday, Thursday, Friday 8.00am to 6.00pm.
Flexibility to cover other shifts preferrable
Main duties of the job
You will have the ability to work in a demanding environment and be committed to offering the best possible care to patients and excellent support to our clinical team. Experience of working within Primary Care and knowledge of Systmone is desired however not essential as we need someone with a common sense, empathic approach who is keen to learn.

Job responsibilities
Support administrative staff, providing cover during staff absences
Issue repeat prescriptions in line with protocol
Scanning of patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients healthcare records
Complete opening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rota
As required support in the management of repeat prescriptions, ensuring they are processed accurately and efficiently
Provide administrative support within clinics (Influenza or Child Immunisations)
Ensure that start of the day procedures (opening up) and end of the day procedures (closing and securing the practice) are completed appropriately.
Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointment system
- Process personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments
- Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately
- Signpost patients to the correct service
- Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies
- Read code data on Systmone as per the practice workflow
- Photocopy documentation as required
- Provide administrative support for the GPs and Nurses

Qualifications
Essential
- Experience of working with the general public
- Experience of administrative duties
- GCSE grade A to C equivalent in Maths and English
Desirable
- Experience of working in a health care setting
- Experience of working within a GP practice
- Experience of Repeat Prescribing
- Experience of workflow and clinical coding
- NVQ in Health and social care, Business Admin or customer service
