Cardiology: Chest pain & Acute Coronary Service
We are seeking a forward thinking, highly motivated, and experienced Cardiology Specialist Nurse to join our dedicated team. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable clinician to take a senior role within our Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) and chest pain pathways, supporting the delivery of safe, effective, evidenced based care for our patients.
The successful candidate will demonstrate exemplary clinical assessment skill, strong leadership and a commitment to high quality patient centred care. You will act as an expert resource for colleagues across the organisation, promoting best best practice and supporting service development within the cardiology specialty.

Key duties and responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Autonomously manage a caseload of patients referred from GP, ED or post hospital follow up.
- Work in partnership with Cardiologists and Cardiac Physiologists to maximise service efficiency.
- Undertake comprehensive clinical assessments including history taking and formulating clear evidence based management plans for suspected angina, ACS, heart failure arrhythmia's and other cardiac patholpogies.
- Request and interpret diagnostic investigations such as ECGs, blood tests, imaging, and functional studies.
- Provide clear concise clinic letters to GP's that outline diagnosis, management decisions and ongoing care plans.
- Offer reassurances, education, and lifestyle advice to patients and families to improve understanding and engagement with their cardiac condition.
The post holder will also be expected to:
- Contribute to the delivery and effective running of nure led clinics.
- Support clinical decision making across ED, AMU, and inpatient cardiology areas.
- Provide expert advice, mentorship and clinical supervision to nursing and MDT colleagues.
- Participate in audit, quality improvement, and service development initiatives related to ACS and chest pain pathways.
- Contribute to staff education, training and the development of advanced practice.
- Work autonomously within their scope of practice, escalating appropriately where required.
