An exciting opportunity has arisen within Cancer Services for a MDT Coordinator/Tracker to work 37.5 hours over 5 days (Monday Friday). The Cancer Services Team is located in the main hospital building, on D Level. We are looking for a dynamic individual who is well organised and has the ability to adapt to an ever changing environment. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to support the function of cancer multidisciplinary team meetings (MDT) and the tracking of suspected/confirmed cancer patient pathways. Skills required for the MDT Coordinators role are:
- Have great attention to detail
- Have be methodical in their work approach
- Be able to work well under pressure to dedicated timelines, alongside both local and national targets
- Have extremely high-quality data entry to support reports submitted to NHS England
Main duties of the job
You will be required to work closely with clinicians, specialist nurses, secretaries, and all members of the Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDT) and associated departments, to ensure that patients on a cancer pathway are proactively managed throughout their pathway in a timely manner.You will be required to coordinate the patient journey from referral, through diagnostics, treatment planning and treatment, highlighting any potential delays in the pathway promptly.Previous experience of working within an MDT Coordinator role, alongside an in-depth knowledge of Cancer targets is essential for this role.Candidates must have excellent organisational, communication, interpersonal skills and possess the ability to have difficult conversations in challenging environments.
