Job overview

  • As a specialist in the use of Trust Central Asset Management System (CAMS), provide support across the Trust with the use CAMS related systems and their future development. The indiidual will contribute to the specification, design, development and delivery of all CAMS across the Trust including as a minimum Make Ready, Ambulance Operations, EPRR, Specialist Resources. Additionally, they will be responsible for providing first and second-line support regarding technical application issues; problem solving issues and escalating faults to software suppliers/developers as well coordinating delivery of updates and user requests.

Facilitate an understanding of complex logistic and supply chain information

  • Supports the achievement of internal levels of satisfaction in the management and use of CAMS
  • Responsible for ensuring CAMS services are always fully available and operating at optimal performance levels, and that appropriate arrangements are implemented to manage and maintain the 24/7 x 365 operational requirements of the LAS
  • Improve user satisfaction with CAMS functionality and performance

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • To assist in implementing solutions/training to reduce the volume of incidents with priority being placed on repeat and/or recurring problems; this will include the provision of support service delivery to users located at various sites on a regular basis particularly when involving the implementation of new releases or processes.
  • Configuring application(s) to meet the needs of users.
  • To take ownership & manage resolution of user’s service requests and incidents.
  • Assist CAMS Manager in the coordination of activities related to service deployments, upgrades and enhancements across the Trust.
  • Input to the creation and implementation of policies, mandates, processes, procedures and reports for CAMS Services and stakeholders.
  • Supports the continuous development and maintenance of the CAMS Service.
  • Ensure all deadlines for information provision are met by planning and organising work in response to continually changing priorities. To respond to urgent requests for information from internal and external sources.
  • Support identification and management of Logistic Support Unit operational risks.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvements of the CAMS Service using information from a variety of sources i.e. lessons learnt, customer feedback, service reporting, etc.
  • Analyses a variety of information and make improvement recommendations based on findings to improve services for all levels of management.
  • Use in-depth knowledge and extensive analytical expertise to identify issues, trends and exceptions, to solve problems, provide advice, draw conclusions, make recommendations and make proposals where there may not be any precedents or obvious solutions, to influence changes in operational policies.
  • Support the initiation, coordination, management and implementation of research and development activities, ensuring we are aligned to industry best practice using appropriate methodologies to drive development of CAMS Services.
  • Proactive in the identification of underlying problems within CAMS Services and the provision of workarounds and solutions to root causes.
  • Assist with project scoping, requirements capture and solution design as required.
  • Support the specification, design and development of required applications, such as system integration
  • Deliver project work package requirements as directed by Manager.
  • Assist the CAMS Manager in the co-ordination and provision of estimated costs as a part of project activity, minor works or change requests as appropriate, ensuring that appropriate governance processes are complied with before submission to the end customer.
  • Support in the creation of new Services and requests as part of / aligned to the Logistic Support Unit strategic plan.
  • Co-ordinating the implementation of future upgrades including comprehensive testing
  • Ensures that CAMS are properly developed, maintained and released in accordance with national, corporate and project directives

Any other duties and ad-hoc tasks commensurate with the grading of the post as delegated by the immediate line manager or other appropriate individuals within the Logistic Support Unit.
