An exciting opportunity has arisen within our CAMHS Care Unit Leadership Team Structure for an experienced Clinical Lead (Non-Medical) to join the Care Unit Leadership Team. The Clinical Lead (Non-Medical) will be responsible for providing a high level of professional and transformation clinical leadership and oversight across CAMHS for non-medical practitioners by providing a high level of child mental health expertise.

They will be accountable for the delivery of clinical services (non-medical) across CAMHS. As a member of the triumvirate and CAMHS Clinical Leadership Team contribute fully and effectively to the development and delivery of Children’s Mental Health Services in the context of the wider aims of the Hospital and Divisional Leadership Team.

Main duties of the job

The Clinical Lead will work with the Divisional Leadership Team and CAMHS Clinical Director and Service Manager to ensure the highest professional standards of psychological and mental health care within CAMHS at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. This involves ensuring the delivery of all mental health services are provided by a trained, competent, and motivated workforce within the agreed level of activity, standards of performance, safety & patient experience and quality .

The post holder will provide leadership and strategic direction with the other members of the triumvirate.

Working closely together the triumvirate will be responsible for the development and provision of CAMHS across North Derbyshire, linking in with other key areas of the hospital to ensure the overall safety of care for young people under CAMHS.

To use a high level of clinical expertise, to develop the CAMHS clinical strategy, ensuring care is delivered within best evidence based clinical practice. To make decisions prioritising and balancing clinical risks and the needs of the service.

The post holder will support a number of key programmes within the Division, relevant to child mental health. These programmes will be essential in ensuring that the Division can deliver its primary objectives and targets over the years and will encompass a range of topics including productivity and efficiency, transformation, clinical effectiveness, quality and workforce succession planning.

To provide clinical oversight of local and regional projects to including making decisions in collaboration with DLT, Service Manager and Clinical Director about future service developments.

Skills

Essential

  • Experience of leading teams, this should be desirable, with the ability to motivate other to achieve organisational objectives
  • Ability to motivate and coach others to enable strong team building and achieve organisational objectives
  • Exceptional skills and knowledge in child mental health assessments, formulations and interventions including working with neurodiversity

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of leading service improvement projects and complex organisational change, whilst developing and maintaining standards of quality
  • Involvement at a lead level on issues related to quality governance, monitoring and standard setting, including risk management and health and safety

Desirable

  • Leadership or management of the diverse professionals working within mental health services

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered professional eg LD or MH nurse within NMC, Social Work registered, AHP registered (including Clinical Psychology)
  • Leadership Training

Desirable

  • Further therapy / mental health qualifications
  • Formal leadership qualification
