Job summary

We are looking for a Business Administrator to join the Mid Devon TALKWORKS team based at Tiverton Hospital, for a half year secondment (ending on 31st May 2027).

A preference for this role would be to be in base on Thursdays and Fridays to allow adequate reception and office cover.

This role covers the busy Mid Devon team, with some shared tasks with the East Devon team, and the postholder is responsible for the our premises at Tiverton Hospital, Crediton Hospital and Okehampton Hospital, and ensuring that timetables appropriate equipment are maintained for other locations.

TALKWORKS is a large and high performing Talking Therapies service, providing a range of therapeutic interventions to the people who access our services.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for someone who has had experience of working in a team, providing administrative support and line management in a busy office environment. The role involves monitoring maintenance within the buildings, ensuring that appropriate recording and reporting systems are up to date and maintaining Business Continuity Plans for areas of responsibility.

The role involves communication, so we expect excellent verbal and written skills to produce reports, maintain filing systems and records. We expect a working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, particularly Word and Excel. Excellent working knowledge of IAPTus, Healthroster, MS teams and remote telephony would also be an advantage.

It is an additional requirement to be confident in interacting with patients and the public and to be confident in giving non-clinical information and advice that improves their experience. Dealing with sensitive information, and understanding the importance of data security.

The postholder will often work under pressure and without direct supervision, so we are looking for someone who is confident and capable, and able to prioritise tasks, and manage own workload, providing support for your colleagues where required.

You will become an important part of the team, working to ensure that every patient receives high quality care. You may be required to support the induction of new staff members, demonstrating activities to them and providing supervision to support administrators.
