We have an exciting opportunity for a Booking Clerk/Receptionist to join the Glaucoma Unit Admin team situated at Heavitree Hospital. This is a part time position and we can be flexible on hours worked.

There may be the opportunity to work across both Heavitree and Wonford.

The Administration and Clinical team work very closely together to provide a comprehensive service to our patients. The Administration team comprises of a booking team, to include Booking Clerks, Receptionists, an Appointment Slot Administrator and a small team of Medical Secretary\'s. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a busy and growing service.

We are looking for someone who is friendly, well organised and enthusiastic to provide an efficient and professional administrative and clerical service.

More detail about the role

This role is fast paced, working in a busy team within Ophthalmology. You will be working as part of a team alternating between working on reception and the booking office, answering telephones and dealing with patient appointments and queries.

The main duties of this role include:

  • Meeting and greeting patients at reception
  • Answering telephones and dealing with appointment requests/queries
  • Booking patient appointments from waiting lists, ensuring appointments are booked accurately on the system
  • Using the Hospital's system EPIC

You will form an essential part of a busy team ensuring patient appointments are booked accurately and information is updated regularly, in a timely manner. You will also need to provide effective communication to both patients and staff in order to ensure the smooth running of the service which enhances patient care.

Visits to the department are welcomed and encouraged.

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, Hours to be agreed (22.5 hours).
