We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Ophthalmology Nurse to join our Bank Services in the Wet AMD service in Outpatients across Powys
You will need to be able to work autonomously, have good communication and negotiation skills within complex clinical situations and strong leadership and organisational skills as well as experience in Ophthalmic conditions and treatments. You also need to demonstrate specialist knowledge across a range of ophthalmic conditions and will be expected to undertake clinical triage of referrals appropriate to scope of practise and expertise.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will assess patients with complex eye conditions such as macular, retinal vein occlusion and diabetic macular oedema. Review patients diagnostic test results including Ocular Coherence Tomography results, Visual Field Testing, Intraocular pressures and administer intravitreal treatments in line with The Royal College of Ophthalmology and NICE guidelines.
