
Job overview
Workers will be expected to provide comprehensive care and interventions in particular, the delivery of vaccinations and immunisations to both the general public and the staff living and working in Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB). There will be a requirement to document administered immunisations using the appropriate (WIS) system.
The national two-day minimum standards for immunisation training is essential for this post and will be arranged if not already completed. Staff will be reimbursed for any Immunisation training required.

Main duties of the job
- To positively champion vaccination, immunisation and respiratory virus testing at every contact.
- To administer vaccinations according to Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board’s Patient Group Directives (PGD).
- To ensure the delivery of vaccines complies with the National Minimum Standards for Immunisation and the Green Book e.g. correct immunisation technique, cold chain storage of vaccines, and safe disposal of sharps.
- To be accountable for the provision of a high standard of patient care.
- To work across a number of hospital settings within Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB) and other community environments in order to meet the service demands of the wider Health Protection function.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

- Ability to travel throughout the Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB region in a timely manner, often at short notice.
- Able to undertake the duties of the role including as a lone worker when required.

Qualifications and/or Knowledge

- Be in compliance with Basic Life Support for Adults (ALS) and Anaphylaxis Training.
- General awareness of the staff flu programme and wider Immunisation agenda.
- General awareness of Covid-19 vaccination and antigen testing programmes.

- Knowledge of Public Health agenda.
