Temporary Bank Speech and Language Therapist – Band 5 / Band 6

Hours: 30 or 37.5 hours per week Working pattern: Monday to Friday Contract: Temporary / Bank Band: Band 5 or Band 6, dependent on experience

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist to join our temporary bank team, working Monday to Friday on either a 30-hour or 37.5-hour per week basis.

The successful candidate will work with school-aged children in mainstream schools, supporting children and young people with a range of speech, language and communication needs (SLCN).

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled clinician to provide high-quality specialist Speech and Language Therapy within an educational setting and make a meaningful difference to children’s communication, learning and participation.

Main duties of the job

  • Working with increasing independence to provide assessment, diagnosis, appropriate intervention and discharge for children within the role..
  • Working closely with children, families and other professionals, providing advice to others regarding the clinical management to support children and young people as relevant to the post.
  • Supporting the delivery of a wide range of school aged intervention packages in relation to the whole system approach to supporting speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) within designated locality community & school settings.
  • Understanding and meeting professional and legal SEND responsibilities outlined in the Children and Families Act 2014 including contributing to statutory assessments of special educational needs and delivery of Speech and Language Therapy provision as specified in children’s Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
